FCC enforcement chief privately offered to help Brendan Carr target Disney over Jimmy Kimmel monologue, records show

The FCC's chief enforcement officer privately offered to help Chairman Brendan Carr target Disney over a Jimmy Kimmel monologue, internal records obtained by WIRED show. The records show the enforcement chief proposed regulatory actions against Disney-owned ABC after Kimmel made critical comments about political figures. Using FCC authority in response to political speech would raise First Amendment concerns. Disney and the FCC did not respond to requests for comment.
