AWS opens Canadian Bedrock access to GPT models through regional routing

AWS opens Canadian Bedrock access to GPT models through regional routing Image: Primary
AWS says customers can now access OpenAI GPT-5.6, GPT-6 and GPT-6.1 Sol through Amazon Bedrock endpoints in Canada Central and Canada West. The models support a 1-million-token context window and tool calling, with access through the Responses, Chat Completions and Bedrock Converse APIs. Bedrock routes requests to destination regions rather than requiring applications to manage routing. US geographic profiles keep processing within Canada and the United States; global profiles can use supported commercial AWS regions elsewhere. For GPT-5.6, global profiles are available only from Canada Central.
