Amazon has simplified some order-related emails so they list product categories rather than specific purchased items, directing customers to its app and website for full order details. An Amazon spokesperson said the change reflects more frequent shopping through phones and use of the Orders page, and reduces customer information shared outside Amazon's properties. Customers began reporting the sparse emails in July.
