# Jury awards Taction more than $5.7 billion in Apple patent case

A federal jury in San Diego awarded Taction more than $5.7 billion after finding that Apple infringed two patents covering technology that makes devices respond to touch with vibrations. The verdict concerns Apple's Taptic Engine in iPhones and Apple Watches.

The jury found infringement of two claims in one patent and one claim in the other. It did not find that Apple infringed willfully. Apple says it intends to appeal the decision.
