Lawfare reported that a dark-web service called Nexus was selling access to identity documents, including 153 million U.S. and Canadian driver's licenses and 3 million travel documents.

The article said KrebsOnSecurity verified genuine licenses in the service and linked the incident to identity-verification provider IDScan using circumstantial evidence. IDScan confirmed it is investigating a data breach, while the FBI is looking into the incident. The service later disappeared, but the report said the operators did not claim to delete the data.
