# Neutral-atom loss-management design reports lower logical errors

Researchers reported a neutral-atom quantum-computing architecture that treats qubit loss during computation as a managed budget rather than solely an error to correct.

The approach combines a transversal-gate architecture with layout, compilation and decoding co-design, eliminating separate storage and entangling zones that require atom movement. The reported design improved accumulated loss per syndrome-extraction round by up to 2.15 times versus earlier zoned designs and reduced logical error rates by more than two orders of magnitude.

The work also identifies device targets such as reloading rates and atom-movement trajectories.
