Haffner Energy has launched a modular biomass-based power-and-cooling offering for data centers built on its CORE100 platform and a multi-module variant called C-iB.

The company says the system can operate alongside a facility's grid connection, reducing grid draw while supplying local power and cooling. It says residual biomass can be stored nearby for weeks and that deployments use ten-module configurations with two redundant modules and limited natural-gas backup.

Haffner says the system can scale into the tens of megawatts and beyond.
