# Strikes on Ukrainian data infrastructure cut internet access for 100,000 households

A Russian drone strike damaged a data center in Kyiv and killed four people nearby, the BBC reported. Other strikes on data centers and network infrastructure have left about 100,000 Ukrainian households without internet access, according to Tom's Hardware. Russia confirmed attacking a Datagroup site, claiming Ukrainian military intelligence used it.

Some companies have begun moving data across the border to avoid disruption. A Ukrainian government official said the country's decentralized internet network could still face local outages. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha warned that damage to this infrastructure could interrupt alerts about missile and drone threats.
