# Samsung signs private 5G project contracts with KT and SK Telecom

Samsung says it has signed contracts with KT and SK Telecom for industrial private 5G projects under South Korea's Hyper AI Network initiative. Samsung is the sole global vendor for KT's project and the main vendor for SK Telecom's.

The projects are set to begin in October 2026. KT plans to test welding and painting robots at a shipyard, while SK Telecom plans to test a patrol robot and video monitoring at a petrochemical facility. Samsung will provide software that combines local network functions with AI processing, allowing the partners to test robotic control and hazard detection on site.
