US seeks to join X's challenge to EU digital services fine
Image: Primary The US government has asked the EU's General Court to let it take part in appeals by X and Elon Musk against a €120 million fine under the Digital Services Act. The Justice Department's application covers two cases seeking to overturn the European Commission's December 2025 decision.
The Commission found that X violated transparency rules involving paid verification, its advertising database and researchers' access to public data. The Justice Department disputes the Commission's reach over Musk and other companies he controls. The court must decide whether the US may join the cases; it has not ruled on the appeals.
