Danaher announced plans to launch its first AI-powered autonomous research lab at Abcam, with full operating capacity expected in early 2027. The system will design antibodies and other molecular tools, build and test candidates, and feed experimental results back into its AI model to improve subsequent designs.

Danaher projects up to eight times faster progress from idea to validated reagent and a tenfold increase in annual reagent generation, from tens to hundreds. Automata collaborated on device orchestration and robotic automation. Scientists will retain key decisions while the platform handles repetitive experimental work.
