The FCC approved Amazon Leo's $11.5 billion acquisition of Globalstar, giving Amazon's satellite business regulatory clearance for a deal that adds about two dozen satellites and mobile-satellite spectrum, Yahoo Finance reported. The FCC said the assets will help Leo enter the market for connections directly between satellites and phones or other devices. Amazon said it signed an agreement with Apple to keep Globalstar-powered Emergency SOS and Find My services running on iPhone and Apple Watch. Apple accounted for about 63% of Globalstar's revenue last year, and Amazon plans to acquire Apple's stake in Globalstar. Leo plans to introduce commercial service by the end of 2026.
