# Biohub joins federal agencies and tech companies to build virtual-cell data

Biohub, federal agencies and technology companies are collaborating to create and standardize biological data for AI models that predict cell behavior, Axios reports. The effort involves $1.8 billion in funding, data, computing and measurement technology.

Commercial partners will receive one year of exclusive access to data they develop before public release. The first phase will map cells and their responses to changes; researchers still lack enough suitable data to model an entire living cell.
