# Immunocan reports megabase-scale human antibody gene replacement in rabbits

_Published Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at 8:19 AM EST · Science · Latest · Tier 2 — Notable_

Immunocan says it replaced megabase-scale human immunoglobulin gene segments at their corresponding sites in rabbit DNA, extending an engineering capability previously used in mice. These genes encode antibodies, and the company says genetic characterization confirmed targeted replacement in a single step.

Its MASIRT platform preserves the inserted segments' structural organization and regulatory elements, rather than relying on random integration. The result supports development of a rabbit platform for discovering human antibodies. Immunocan still plans to evaluate gene expression, confirm inheritance through breeding, and assess immune function and antibody discovery performance.
