# AWS adds 250 Mbps and 500 Mbps tiers to MediaConnect Router

AWS has added 250 Mbps and 500 Mbps high bitrate tiers to Elemental MediaConnect Router, expanding transport capacity for professional broadcasters, the company announced. The tiers support broadcast contribution, content distribution and remote production, including transport stream distribution compliant with the VSF TR-07 industry standard.

AWS says the enhancement includes changes to how data moves through the service to reduce jitter, or variation in packet arrival timing. High bitrate mode supports up to two redundant sources for reliability.
