AWS Batch adds ECS Managed Instances compute option

AWS Batch now supports Amazon ECS Managed Instances as a compute option for GPU-accelerated and compute-intensive batch workloads. Customers can create a managed-instances compute environment, select allowed instance types and networking, attach it to a job queue, and submit work on On-Demand, Spot, or reserved capacity. AWS says it handles AMI updates, security patching, and instance lifecycle, replacing those operations for customers that otherwise manage Amazon EC2 infrastructure. The option is supported in all Regions where AWS Batch is available.
