A newly public court filing alleges DHS agents stored photos, license plates and other information about ICE observers in the Palantir-built Investigative Case Management system, WIRED reported. The redacted filing became public Friday in a proposed class action concerning an immigration enforcement operation in Maine in January.

The filing says an agent created records on at least six observers; the government puts the number at eight. A DHS privacy assessment says subject records automatically reach CBP's TECS system as border screening lookout records. Plaintiffs seek restrictions on use of their information and agents' conduct. DHS calls the case meritless, while government attorneys argue the incidents were isolated and prohibited by policy.
