Amazon plans to invest more than $100 million in a 585,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Greenwood, Indiana, to make equipment for its fulfillment and robotics network across North America. The company says the site will create 300 manufacturing and engineering jobs and expects it to open by 2028.

The facility will combine fabrication, robotic welding, powder coating and assembly. Amazon already makes robots at facilities in Massachusetts; the Indiana project would expand its domestic production footprint. The investment is a plan, and the stated jobs and opening date are company expectations.
