# AWS raises Aurora PostgreSQL serverless capacity ceiling by 50%

AWS has raised the maximum capacity of Aurora serverless for PostgreSQL-compatible databases from 256 to 384 Aurora Capacity Units, a 50% increase. The new ceiling lets a single database scale to 768 GiB of memory, with corresponding CPU and networking resources, while retaining the ability to scale down to zero.

The increase requires Platform Version 4 and a supported PostgreSQL engine version. Existing databases already on Platform Version 4 can change their maximum capacity without downtime; databases on older platforms must first upgrade through a pending maintenance action.
