Semiconductor test equipment manufacturer Advantest confirmed in an October 6 breach notification that attackers stole personal information during its February ransomware attack. Its earlier disclosure had left customer and employee data exposure unresolved.

The exposed information includes contact details, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, national ID numbers, driver's licenses, passport numbers, medical information and financial information. The company says it has no information that the stolen data has been leaked or misused, but acknowledges an elevated risk of identity theft and fraud.

Advantest is offering recipients 18 months of free Kroll monitoring services, with enrollment open until January 4, 2027. Whether those affected are customers, employees or partners remains unclear.
