R1 said it has entered an agreement to acquire Humata Health, whose software monitors authorization policies and creates prior-authorization submissions. R1 plans to connect the technology to its Phare OS revenue-cycle platform after closing and place the Humata team within its R37 innovation lab. The company said the deal is expected to close by the end of the third quarter. R1 said the addition would expand automation of pre-bill authorization, utilization-review, documentation and coding workflows for providers and payers.
