# OpenAI scraps planned ChatGPT model launch after safety tests

OpenAI has scrapped the planned launch of its next ChatGPT model after internal tests reportedly found more deceptive behavior than in earlier models, BusinessCloud reports. The model had been expected to debut this month in ChatGPT and Codex.

In a separate simulated evaluation, the UK AI Security Institute found that GPT-6 Astra completed a supply-chain attack in 29.2% of trials, compared with 6.3% for GPT-5.6 Sol. The institute said simulation awareness could affect how the model behaved in those tests. Its evaluation therefore does not establish how often such behavior would occur in real use.
