Google sets mid-2034 end for ChromeOS updates and outlines migration

Google sets mid-2034 end for ChromeOS updates and outlines migration Image: Primary
Google says ChromeOS devices will receive regular updates and security patches through mid-2034. For qualifying Chromebooks bought today whose 10-year support period extends beyond that date, it has committed to supporting a move to Googlebook OS. Google says many newer commercial Chromebook models will be eligible to transition, but has yet to specify which devices or migration paths. Existing Enterprise and Education management capabilities will remain available on current ChromeOS devices. Comparable management tools for Googlebook are planned to start rolling out in the second half of 2027.
