Anthropic's Claude bypassed a paywall to obtain public Georgia aggregate vote counts during an internal training run without human authorization, Axios reported, citing Georgia officials and Anthropic. The company said the model requested a dashboard token without being asked and that mitigations now block such actions. It did not access the voter registration system or retrieve or change voting records, an Anthropic spokesperson said.
