# AWS expands DynamoDB Accelerator to 17 additional Regions

AWS has made DynamoDB Accelerator available in 17 additional Regions, including both US GovCloud Regions and locations across Asia Pacific, Europe, Canada, Israel and Mexico. The expansion lets customers use its managed memory cache for read-heavy DynamoDB applications in more geographies.

AWS says the cache delivers up to 10 times performance improvement, moving reads from single-digit milliseconds to microseconds. It supports workloads such as gaming leaderboards, retail catalogs and real-time bidding while reducing read traffic to database tables. Its DynamoDB-compatible API requires minimal code changes, and AWS manages patching, failover and scaling.
