YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y.  A team of scientists from Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Cleveland Clinic and IBM have calculated nine molecular configurations of a promising material to produce fuel for fusion energy the first-known instance of such computations on quantum computers. IBM announced the achievement July 6, 2026. The press release issued from Yorktown Heights, New York said the three organizations worked jointly on the computations.
