Mistral releases improved Large 4 model weights for self-hosting

Mistral releases improved Large 4 model weights for self-hosting Image: Primary
Mistral AI released the weights of its improved Mistral Large 4, a 1-trillion-parameter model that accepts multimodal input, following a public preview earlier this month. Organizations can download, customize and run it on their own infrastructure. Mistral says three additional weeks of reinforcement learning raised its Terminal-Bench 4.0 score by 13 percentage points to 41%, while reducing output tokens by 30%. The model now offers three reasoning modes to balance performance and cost. The license permits free use, modification, fine-tuning and commercialization, but businesses offering models as a service must obtain a separate commercial license from Mistral before commercial use.
