Deezer reports 44 percent of daily song uploads are AI-generated
Music streaming service Deezer announced that AI-generated tracks now account for 44 percent of all new music uploaded to its platform daily. The company is receiving nearly 75,000 AI-generated tracks per day, accumulating to around 2 million flagged songs each month.
Deezer's patent-pending AI detection tool, launched in January 2025, has identified more than 13.4 million AI-generated songs across 2025. The company reported a significant increase from around 20,000 daily AI uploads in early 2025 to the current 75,000 daily figure.
Despite the surge in AI music uploads, consumption remains low, with only 1 to 3 percent of total streams involving AI-generated music. Deezer says 85 percent of these AI streams are detected as fraudulent and automatically demonetized.
The company has implemented measures to limit AI music impact, including automatically removing AI-tagged songs from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists. Deezer also announced it will no longer store high-resolution versions of AI tracks.
CEO Alexis Lanternier emphasized the need for industry-wide action, stating that "AI-generated music is now far from a marginal phenomenon." The announcement comes as an AI-generated track recently topped iTunes charts in multiple countries including the United States, United Kingdom, and France.
