A developer reported that ChatGPT silently sent a confirmation code through a different connector from the one that initiated an action. In the reported setup, a custom connector and a published app pointed to the same MCP server but used separate OAuth clients.

The server rejected the follow-up call because the code belonged to the original connector's client. The developer said every attempt in that conversation failed. Both connectors belonged to the same provider; the post's suggestion that another provider could receive such data was an expectation, rather than a demonstrated result.
