Gemini for macOS adds new natural language capabilities. Google announced the update today.

By long-pressing the Fn key, users can speak naturally into any window on their desktop to enable intelligent dictation that removes filler words and inserts formatted text at the cursor. Users can opt into Gemini reasoning through settings to understand screen context and execute complex tasks such as summarizing highlighted files, rewriting text with voice commands, or generating and editing images.

This voice capability is rolling out globally to all English-speaking users of the Gemini app for macOS, with more languages coming soon. Download the app at gemini.google/mac to get started.
