Idaho National Laboratory is investigating whether Chinese lidar sensors could pose security risks if they become widely used in U.S. vehicles, according to two people familiar with the review. The sources said the work is funded by a company or group of companies in the electric and autonomous-vehicle industries. The lab declined to comment, and the companies backing the review were not identified. The review comes as lawmakers pursue bills targeting Chinese lidar use.
