Green SM has launched an electric taxi service in Los Angeles with 500 VinFast VF 8 SUVs, its first North American operation, The Next Web reported. Both companies belong to Vietnam's Vingroup, giving the carmaker another route onto US roads after it sold fewer than 400 cars there in the first half of 2026.

Green SM owns its vehicles and hires and trains full-time drivers. Riders can book through its app, call a hotline or hail a taxi on the street. The service enters a city where Waymo already carries paying passengers in driverless cars.
