Google is giving publishers an embeddable button that lets readers add the publisher to their Preferred Sources in Google.

Google says selected sources are more likely to appear in Top Stories and can receive a preferred badge in AI Overviews and AI Mode. The feature is one of three announced personalization changes, alongside conversational controls for Discover and topic controls for Android Google News audio briefings.

Google says users have selected more than 600,000 unique sources, a count of sites rather than readers or selections.
