Genezen and Galibra Neuroscience announced a manufacturing partnership under which Genezen will produce Galibra's GAL005 gene therapy for nonclinical studies and a planned Phase 1 trial. The program targets succinic semialdehyde dehydrogenase deficiency, an inherited disorder with no approved therapy addressing its underlying cause.

GAL005 is designed to deliver a working ALDH5A1 gene to the central nervous system using an intravenously administered viral carrier. Genezen will supply material for toxicology and biodistribution studies needed before human testing, along with clinical material manufactured to current good manufacturing practice standards. The trial remains planned; the reported treatment results are from mice.
