Aptadir secures €40 million seed round for RNA therapies
Image: Primary Aptadir Therapeutics secured a €40 million seed round that includes an investment from CE-Ventures, the venture arm of Crescent Enterprises, CE-Ventures announced Tuesday. The financing will support the preclinical company's work on RNA-based treatments for genetic disorders and oncology, including its lead candidate for Fragile X syndrome.
Aptadir's experimental molecules are designed to interfere with abnormal DNA methylation, a process that can silence genes. The company says it has demonstrated gene reactivation in patient-derived disease models. The round gives Aptadir capital to advance its pipeline toward clinical development, but its lead treatment remains preclinical.
