Cloudflare says developers can now restrict access to Quick Tunnels by email address or domain starting with cloudflared 2026.9.3. The free service publishes a local application at a public URL without requiring a Cloudflare account; the new --allowed-mail flag limits who can open it.

Visitors verify their email with a one-time PIN through Cloudflare Access. The connector on the developer's machine checks that address against locally stored rules, keeping the guest list off Cloudflare's servers. Protection is optional: tunnels started without the flag remain public, and changing access rules requires restarting the tunnel.
