Meta settled a lawsuit with 52 states and territories over young people's use of Instagram and Facebook, according to the Electronic Frontier Foundation. The settlement will require age-gating practices across Meta products and restrictions on accounts of people under 18, including a two-hour daily limit and content restrictions. The EFF said the agreement may also pressure platforms outside Meta, such as TikTok and YouTube, to adopt similar measures.
