Cybersecurity executive arrested on conspiracy and extortion charges

Cybersecurity executive arrested on conspiracy and extortion charges Image: Primary
Canadian cybersecurity executive Edward Dubrovsky has been arrested in Pennsylvania on conspiracy and extortion-related charges, BleepingComputer reports. Court records show that he was transferred to the Eastern District of Texas, where the charges were filed, and remains in custody. Dubrovsky co-founded CYPFER and has been associated with CyberSteward, firms that help breach and ransomware victims negotiate payments to cybercriminals. Multiple reports link his arrest to the ShinyHunters investigation, but the FBI has not publicly confirmed that connection. The complaint remains sealed, leaving his alleged conduct and any connection to the breach of the FBI's jobs portal unclear.
