Healthleap has raised $38 million in seed and Series A funding for software that flags hospital patients who may need further clinical review, TechCrunch reported. The financing comprises an $8 million seed round co-led by Sequoia Capital and First Round Capital and a $30 million Series A led by Hummingbird Ventures.

The platform combines information extracted from clinicians' notes with lab results and vital signs to generate risk scores within hospital workflows. CEO Josiah Meyer says it operates in more than 50 hospitals. Healthleap plans to spend the funding on engineering, product, sales and customer success while adding conditions. Its software highlights risks rather than diagnosing patients.
