Taiwan-led team reports metal-free OLED near 1,000 nm
Image: Primary Researchers led by National Taiwan University reported an organic OLED device with 3.56% external quantum efficiency and an emission peak at 995 nanometers. The team redesigned C-shaped dyes with sulfur- and selenium-containing cores, then used a deuterated platinum sensitizer and PM6 relay to improve energy transfer and charge balance. The authors describe the result as a record among metal-free organic emitters peaking around 1,000 nm. The finding remains a reported research device rather than a commercial product.
