GitHub reports widespread outage across API, Actions and Copilot
Image: Primary GitHub said it was investigating widespread performance problems affecting its website, API, Actions, webhooks, Issues and Pull Requests on Aug. 17. The company's status information showed roughly 20% error rates for web and API traffic, while archive and raw repository downloads were at about 50%; SAML, OIDC, SCIM and Team Sync were also affected. GitHub later confirmed degraded availability for Copilot. The cause was not disclosed and the investigation remained ongoing.
