U.S. Bank is investigating LockBit's claim that it breached the bank and stole data, according to a report citing a bank public-affairs executive.

The ransomware group added the bank to its leak site and threatened to publish alleged files on September 3 unless an undisclosed ransom is paid. The bank said it had no indication its internal systems were affected and no evidence of unauthorized access to its network.

It has not disclosed whether data was taken or the size of any demand.
