AWS says its DocumentDB database service is now available in the Asia Pacific (Taipei) and Asia Pacific (New Zealand) regions. The expansion lets customers run the managed document database in those regions with MongoDB compatibility.

DocumentDB stores JSON data and automatically scales storage up to 128 TiB. AWS says customers can add up to 15 read replicas without application downtime. Customers can create clusters through the AWS console, command-line interface or software development kits.
