Crusoe has ended its plan to buy 29 gas turbines from Boom Supersonic for $1.25 billion, removing Boom's launch customer for its stationary power business. Boom chief executive Blake Scholl disclosed the change, and Crusoe confirmed that the companies are no longer doing business together.

Scholl said turbines are no longer part of Crusoe's near-term primary power mix at its Abilene projects. The companies had expected the first deliveries in 2027. Crusoe says it will choose power sources for each site as its needs change; its initial 1.2-gigawatt Abilene data center uses grid power, with a gas-turbine plant for backup.
