Data analysis links RingCentral breach to 1.6 million accounts
Image: Primary Have I Been Pwned said its analysis of leaked data found records for 1.6 million RingCentral accounts, including names, email addresses, phone numbers and physical addresses.
RingCentral disclosed in July that a social-engineering campaign had compromised its systems, while saying the core platform was unaffected and services continued without disruption. ShinyHunters claimed responsibility and said it stole data, but RingCentral had not attributed the incident to a specific group when BleepingComputer reported the findings.
The reported account count adds a defined scope to an incident previously described as affecting a limited portion of customers.
