# AWS opens preview of managed agents built with OpenAI

AWS has opened a preview of Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents, developed with OpenAI to run agents entirely inside AWS. The service uses a customized version of OpenAI's Agents API and is available through supported APIs in Northern Virginia, Oregon and Ohio.

Durable sessions retain messages, tool calls and intermediate results so work can resume later. Agents use individual IAM roles, can connect to tools through Model Context Protocol servers and support human approval before consequential actions. During preview, customers pay only for underlying AWS resources; pricing may change at general availability.
