Elroy Air said it completed the first uncrewed autonomous flights under a federal eVTOL integration program, operating from Houma-Terrebonne Airport in Louisiana in late August. Its hybrid-electric Chaparral carried packages, medical supplies, spare parts, food and water while air traffic control handled it alongside other airport traffic. The company says Chaparral can carry more than 500 pounds, travel 450 miles, and take off vertically without a runway or charging infrastructure.
