# Google makes Spanner Omni available for production outside its cloud

Google Cloud says Spanner Omni, the version of its distributed database that customers run on their own infrastructure, is now generally available. The release adds production features including access controls, audit logs, backup and restore, and dedicated worker nodes. Customers can run it in private data centers or on other clouds under a paid annual subscription based on virtual CPUs.

Spanner Omni lets applications use SQL, graph and vector search within one database. Customers must operate and maintain the software themselves, and Google does not provide an availability guarantee for their deployments. Some integrations tied to Google Cloud are also absent.
