A StarkWare researcher completed what the company describes as a quantum-resistant Bitcoin transaction on Bitcoin's mainnet. The method uses signature grinding to limit public-key-material exposure while a transaction waits in the mempool, without changing Bitcoin's cryptography.

The non-standard transaction was submitted directly to MARA's Slipstream service because ordinary Bitcoin nodes do not relay its format, and MARA mined it. The researcher continues to support a protocol-level soft fork for a broader solution. Producing one transaction takes hours of computing, according to the source.
