NVIDIA contributes Vera Rubin rack designs to open infrastructure standards

NVIDIA contributes Vera Rubin rack designs to open infrastructure standards Image: Primary
NVIDIA announced contributions of Vera Rubin rack and compute tray designs to the Open Compute Project, giving equipment builders shared specifications for AI data centers. Its updated MGX 1.2 architecture supports rack deployments up to 250kW and adds standardized power and cooling interfaces, fanless liquid-cooled compute trays and native 19-inch equipment support. NVIDIA also joined AMD, Google and Meta in publishing the Open Data Center Specification v0.7, covering facility power, cooling and layout. New open source DSX software components configure networks, test clusters, manage racks and provision servers. A separate grid resilience specification defines how facilities should stay connected during grid disturbances and restore near-full load within less than two seconds.
